Scope of this notice

Vectis Works makes software, data systems and shop-floor dashboards for manufacturing companies, from 100 Powell Place #1170, Nashville, TN 37204. Below is how personal information is handled on tryvectisworks.com and in the business emails that Vectis Works sends. Wherever the text says we, us or our, read Vectis Works.

When we get in touch

Manufacturers are who we serve. The people we write to hold jobs close to that work: running a plant, heading operations, managing IT, directing engineering. Messages go to a work inbox. Once in a while a call may come, or a letter addressed to your company's premises. Nobody hears from us unless the work looks like it could matter to their business, and anyone who asks us to stop gets exactly that.

The details we keep

• About you at work. Name, employer and job title, plus, when we can find them, a work email, a business phone and a link to a professional profile.
• About your employer. What it's called, its website and industry, how big it is, where it is, and the postal address of the business.
• What your company has published. Job ads, press coverage and posts it has made public.
• Deliverability results. Whether mail sent to a given work address would arrive.
• Our exchanges. Messages between us and any notes we make on them.
• Browsing this site. There are no cookies here and no analytics. Ordinary server logs, such as a visitor's browser type and IP address, are kept by the company that hosts the site, so pages can be served and misuse blocked. Pages fetch their typeface from Google Fonts, and that request passes your IP address to Google Fonts.

Sensitive categories stay out entirely: no health details, no government ID numbers, no financial account numbers.

Our sources

• Material anyone can see: news sites, job boards, professional networking profiles and companies' own websites.
• Paid services that supply company facts and business contact details.
• You yourself, through a reply, a form or a conversation.

Purposes

• Working out whether a company might have a use for what we do.
• Writing to people at work about those services.
• Testing an address before any message goes to it.
• Answering you, and talking through or delivering services when you want them.
• Running the do-not-contact list.
• Security for our systems, and compliance with the law.

We don't track whether you open our emails.

Opting out

Answer one of our emails with a request to stop. Use whatever words you like. On a call, say it to the caller and that counts too. We act on it quickly, and never later than 10 business days after you ask.

From then on your email address and name sit on our list of people not to contact. That list is what keeps us from writing again, including when some other source later hands us your details.

Disclosure

Personal information is never sold or rented by Vectis Works. Nor is it passed to other businesses for targeted advertising or for them to market their own products. Disclosure happens in three situations only:

• Service providers working for us. Hosting and data storage companies, the companies that provide mailboxes and deliver email, address verification services and business data suppliers. Each may use it for nothing beyond the service it performs for us.
• Legal duty or protection. Where a law compels it, or where it is needed to protect safety, property or our rights.
• Sale or reorganization. A buyer or successor of the business would receive it, and would be bound to keep protecting it in line with this notice.

Safeguards

Only team members whose work calls for it can get at this information. Reasonable organizational and technical safeguards are in place. Still, absolute security is not something any business can promise, and we don't.

Retention

Business contact records stay only while they serve our work of reaching businesses. Stale ones get refreshed or deleted. Client records last as long as the engagement, accounting rules and legal duties call for. A do-not-contact entry lasts for as long as Vectis Works contacts any business, since deleting it would undo your request.

Requests you can make

• See what we hold on you, and learn its source.
• Have mistakes in it fixed.
• Have it erased. The one thing kept is the do-not-contact entry, because that entry is what stops future contact.

Some US states, California among them, grant extra privacy rights to their residents: to know, to correct, to delete, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Vectis Works does neither. Exercising any right never changes the way we deal with you.

Requests can come as an answer to one of our emails, through the vectisworks.com contact form, or by letter to the Nashville address. So that we know a request is genuine, we might check with you which address we emailed. Replies arrive inside the period the law sets. Someone you authorize can also submit a request for you.

Under 18

Everything we offer and send is meant for businesses. Vectis Works never knowingly gathers details about a person younger than 18.

Location of processing

Vectis Works operates from the US and writes to US businesses. Processing happens in the US, and also in whatever countries our service providers work from.

Revisions

Each time this notice is revised, the effective date shown above changes to match.
